Artist Statement
Jag ser på mitt konstnärskap som ett sätt att förmedla och knyta an det personliga med omgivningen.
I mitt nuvarande skapande finns ett stort fokus på sammanflätning. Jag vill att det jag skapar ska väva samman det inre med det yttre och fånga stunder och tillstånd då existensen år extra påtaglig.
Jag intresserar mig för det sårbara, ambivalenta och det som är motsägelsefullt i tillvaron.
Begreppet sammanflätning blir också märkbart i min praktik genom att jag anpassar material efter min idé och experimenterar mycket med olika tekniker som jag för samman för att fånga det uttryck som jag strävar efter och har i tanken. Dessa tekniker består främst utav måleri, rumslig gestaltning och installation. Förhållningssättet är också en motreaktion till samtidens dikotoma tankesätt som säger att en/eller något endast kan vara det ena eller det andra, genom min konst vill jag förespråka att kunna vara både och, och mer.
I look at my artistry as a way to express and communicate. I always try to capture either an atmosphere, a state of mind, an emotion or a message in the work i create. With my art I want to explore emotional life, vulnerability and what feels difficult to grasp and put into words. I am interested and fascinated by the inner world of humans, the body and the world around us. Especially how they relate to each other, the limitations and also how they are connected. At the moment I have a focus on interlacing when creating. In my work I want to interlace the internal with the external and capture moments when existence feels extra palpable. My artistic practice consists of multiple ways of expression and techniques, mainly through painting but also through spatial figuration and installation. This approach is also a resistance to the contemporary dichotomous notion that a person or thing can solely be one out of two opposite things, through my art I want to express the ability to be both, and more.
